About PDFLime
Our Mission
PDFLime was created to provide powerful PDF manipulation tools that respect your privacy. In an era where most online tools upload your files to remote servers, we believe there's a better way.
Why PDFLime?
Traditional online PDF tools require you to upload your files to their servers. This raises several concerns:
- Privacy: Your sensitive documents are exposed to third parties
- Security: Files could be intercepted or stored without your knowledge
- Speed: Upload and download times add unnecessary delays
- Reliability: Requires internet connection and server availability
Our Solution
PDFLime processes everything locally in your browser using modern web technologies:
- WebAssembly: Near-native performance for PDF processing
- Web Workers: Parallel processing without freezing your browser
- Modern JavaScript: Efficient file handling and manipulation
Technology Stack
PDFLime is built with:
- Next.js 15 with App Router
- React 19
- TypeScript for type safety
- pdf-lib for PDF manipulation
- Tailwind CSS for styling
- Radix UI for accessible components
Open Source
PDFLime is open source and available on GitHub. We believe in transparency and welcome contributions from the community.
